Poole Waite & Co Ltd was founded in 1935 when a partnership between Mr Poole and Mr Frederick Wille Waite was formed. Originally trading from suitcases containing ironmongery and hardware samples, they started supplying building and construction companies, local authorities and were awarded Ministry of Defence contracts. The business expanded rapidly prompting the need for premises to include storage, a trade counter and an office. So in the late 30's they secured premises at 129 Grays Inn Road WC1.
Their continued success meant they outgrew these premises and in 1965 the company moved a short distance to Clerkenwell Road EC1.
Now in our 86th year of trading we have seen many changes within our industry with ironmongery designs, finishes and manufacturing techniques constantly evolving. We are extremely fortunate to employ some of the most highly qualified and experienced staff within the industry who are regularly updated with the latest product launches, changes in technical specification and classification standards. This allows us to offer up-to-date professional advice together with quality products thus responding rapidly to the needs of the architectural Ironmongery specifier, installer and end user.
Given the current global situation with the COVID-19 pandemic now, more than ever, the increased focus on safeguarding the health and well-being of staff, visitors and members of the public in buildings has become a matter of top priority.
Recognising this need for a more hygienic approach when specifying and installing door handles and hardware we have raise the standards by introducing our Self- sanitising Antimicrobial ironmongery range. This will not only help prevent the spread of germs and bacteria but also offers long-term protection for all users of the property.
As well as the sale of ironmongery we offer a wide range of additional services.
