Fire doors are required to have 3 fire certified hinges. Fire door hinges should be CE marked along with a fire identification stamp which is easily visible. Fire rated hinges are tested with intumescent packers fitted behind each leaf. It is essential that fire rated hinges are installed with intumescent hinge packers, also referred to as hinge pads and hinge plates.

- 1mm packer is required for use on FD30 rated fire doors and a 2mm packer is required for use on FD60 rated fire doors
